Ve světě

Jedna z nejvíce ceněných bílých odrůd. Dnes se pěstuje po celém světě a je řazena mezi nejkvalitnější odrůdy pro bílá vína. U nás se o jeho rozšíření v 17. století zasloužil řád svatého Benedikta. V České republice se pěstuje takřka všude, samozřejmě i v okolí města Bzenec, kde dosahuje opravdu mimořádné kvality.

In the world: one of the most prized white varieties. Today it is grown all over the world and is amongst the best varieties for white wines. In our country, the order of St. Benedict was responsible for its expansion in the 17th century. In the Czech Republic, it is grown almost everywhere, of course in the vicinity of the town of Bzenec, where it achieves a truly exceptional quality.

Název

V Německu se označuje jako Rheinriesling nebo jen Riesling, další názvy jsou např. Moselriesling, Feher Rajnai, Johannisberger, Petit Riesling, Rajnaj Rizling, White Riesling, Roessiling, Roessiling, Graefenberger, u nás kdysi také Starosvětské a další.

Name: In Germany it is referred to as Rheinriesling or just Riesling, other names are e.g. Moselriesling, Feher Rajnai, Johannisberger, Petit Riesling, Rajnaj Rizling, White Riesling, Roessiling, Roessiling, Graefenberger, in our country once also Starosvětské etc.

Původ

Ryzlink rýnský je starobylá pozdní moštová odrůda vinné révy pocházející z údolí horního toku Rýna. Současné genetické rozbory ukazují, že vznikl pravděpodobně nahodilým křížením odrůdy Heunisch a semenáče Tramínu.

Origin: Riesling is an ancient, late grape variety from the upper Rhine valley. Current genetic analyses show that it was probably caused by a random cross between the Heunisch variety and the Tramin seedling.

Jak chutná?

Jako mladý má pikantní kyselinu a ovocitý charakter, ve vůni i chuti můžete cítit meruňku, broskev a citrusy. S lety zrání se u něj projevuje až medovost a tolik typický nazrálý tón připomínající petrolej nebo lipový květ. K tomu pevná citrusová kyselina, která je pro něj tak typická. Tato odrůda zřejmě neosloví začínající milovníky vín, ale jistě ji dříve nebo později objeví a ocení její kvality. Je velmi vhodná na archivaci. Teprve až s léty zrání dosahuje Ryzlink své nejvyšší kvality. Bývá také ozdobou archivních degustací a právě proto je označován jako královská odrůda.

What does it taste like? When young, it has a spicy acidity and fruity character; you can smell apricots, peaches and citrus in the aroma and taste. With years of ripening, it manifests itself in honey and such a typical ripe tone reminiscent of kerosene or linden blossom. In addition, solid citrus acid is so typical of it. This variety will probably not appeal to beginning wine lovers, but they will sooner or later discover it and appreciate its qualities. It is very suitable for archiving. It is only with years of ripening that Riesling reaches its highest quality. It is also a decoration of archival tastings, and that is why it is referred to as the royal variety.
