Velmi hojně se pěstuje v Alsasku, Burgundsku, na Mosele, ale i v Maďarsku, Itálii, Rakousku, Austrálii, Novém Zélandu, Slovensku a Švýcarsku. Název Pinot pochází z francouzského pin, protože šiška piniové borovice připomíná tvar hroznu pinotu.

Název

Nejen ve světě, ale i u nás mělo několik názvů, nicméně v r. 1993 došlo z důvodu nevole burgundských vinařů ke změně názvu /týká se i Rulandského bílého a modrého, a tak jsme se přiklonili k německé variantě, kde se „Šeďák“ pojmnoval po Johann Rulandovi, který se zasloužil o rozšíření této odrůdy v okolí německého Špýru. Ve světě se pěstuje mj. i pod názvy Borgogna Grigio, Burgunder Roter, Champagner, Graue Burgunder, Malvasier Grau, Pinot Grigio, Rauländer, Rheingrau, Szürkebarát, Tokay d‘Alsace, Roučí šedé a další.

Původ

Rulandské šedé je starobylá francouzská bílá moštová odrůda původem z Burgundska, vznikla pravděpodobně sponntánní pupencovou mutací z Rulandského modrého. Mimochodem tato odrůda je zajímavá i tím, že přestože se jedná o bílé víno, barva hroznu je skoro modrá, přesněji šedomodročervená, ale také tím, že je oblíbené hlavně mezi běžnými konzumenty vín v ČR.

Origin: Pinot Gris is an ancient French white grape variety native to Burgundy, probably created by a spontaneous bud mutation from Pinot Noir. By the way, this variety is also interesting in that, although it is a white wine, the colour of the grape is almost blue, more precisely grey-blue-red, but also in that it is popular mainly among ordinary wine consumers in the Czech Republic.

Jak chutná?

Celkový charakter vín je neutrální vůně s ovocnými tóny, chuť je plná, hebká. Ve vůni i chuti můžete cítit pomeranč, grapefruit, meruňky, hrušky, oříšky, ale i máselné tóny, typickou chlebovinku, vanilku nebo včelí vosk. Skvěle se hodí k archivaci.

How does it taste like? The overall character of the wines is a neutral aroma with fruit tones; the taste is full and soft. The aroma and taste smell of orange, grapefruit, apricots, pears, nuts, but also buttery tones, typical bread, vanilla and beeswax. Great for archiving.
